If you have been to Transmitter Park recently chances are you have heard some bumpin’ music coming from our building and spilling out into the park. That would be the sounds of Holy Ghost who have been working in our venue space to rehearse for their upcoming tour. They just released a video for their newest single Dumb Disco Ideas that was shot on our roof, time-lapse style. Check out the video and their upcoming tour dates!
The Spring Edition of The Brooklyn Flea Record Fair is almost here and is better than ever with Red Bull Music Academy curated DJs, Dogfish Head beer on tap, and a bevy of record labels, stores and collectors coming out for the day to sell vinyl and specialty items. It takes place this Saturday 5/4. [the end] will have a table set up and we look forward to seeing you there. More info here.
The Doorbells were recently at [the end] recording tracks for their EP Belong which releases next week. Join them on May 1st at the Studio at Webster Hall for the release party. Also, be sure to check out the album of amazing photos they took during their time at the end.
Longtime friend of [the end] Liam Finn has some exciting things brewing. He has nestled into the comfort of our studio in his own private room to continue working on material for his forthcoming album. Additionally, Liam is back out playing a month-long residency at The Knitting Factory (Brooklyn) for all of this month entitled ‘Murmuration’. The shows run every Monday beginning tonight at 8pm. His live shows are something to be seen and have earned him spots touring with such bands as Pearl Jam. Liam is one of the most energetic and exciting performers playing today You can get more info on the shows here.
[The End] is very fortunate to have met and developed a partnership with Sofar Sounds. These secret pop-up shows, hosted in cities around the world, are a private, intimate take on the traditional concert scene. Only a select few audience members are given the location to these clandestine performances the morning of the show date. Traditionally acoustic performances, the end was able to host and engineer the very first electric session with Sofar Sounds! Check out the scenes from that special night here. The End was recently in the studio with Neil Finn working on vocals, overdubs and crafting a new part for the epic “Song of the Lonely Mountain”, the closing track for the new movie in the Lord of the Rings Franchise, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The product was a beautifully crafted and haunting epic, a perfect match for the upcoming film. Check out the Rolling Stone article and a link to the song [here].
Congratulations to Shiny Toy Guns for the rave reviews [HUFFINGTON POST REVIEW] and reaching the Top 10 on the iTunes Alternative Chart. Chris Tabron of The End mixed 6 tracks on the record. You can check it out + purchase the album HERE.
The entire The End facility was used in this production of Alone Together. Known for working with artists such as Gorillaz [Watch Gorillaz Doncomatic], Daley is emerging as one of the most unique vocalists in music today.
